My son loves Minecraft and also loves magnetic tiles, blocks, and legos. If that sounds like your kid, then I think they would love this set. My son is 5 and new to the Minecraft world. He liked that he could build a 3D model of his home from the video game. The magnets rattle a little bit in each square, so beware of that if you aren't too big on noise.
