I think my minecraft loving 6 yr old son will be thrilled to get these for Christmas. They are smaller than I orginally thought, but I think that will work out for us for storage amd space reasons. I built this quick little structure out of them to show what can be done. You will definitely need more than one 35 piece set! That means I paid about a dollar a block, which I think is a little ridiculous. Quality is ok, even though the magnets inside could be a little stronger. I had to be gentle to keep the tree from falling over. They also rattle, which isnt too big of a deal, but I didnt expect that. Overall, I like them, but they are a little overpriced.

So far these are probably the most played with toy from Christmas (as of Jan 5) but they can't really be used for their purpose - to build Minecraft houses. The set seems like it will be enough blocks but each style only comes with a few, like up to 6. Not enough to build anything really. We can make about two trees which is as much as I've seen being built, otherwise they're just stacking them randomly. They would be good to have everyone get for Christmas or birthday (both grandparents, aunt, friends, parents) to really get enough. The magnets are good and we've used them on the fridge occasionally as well.
